Celebrate the holiday season with a live performance!

The holidays are upon us and this year, we want you to celebrate with the Fredericton Playhouse! Enjoying a live performance is the perfect way to spend some quality time with friends or family – tickets to a show fit perfectly in a Christmas card! Not sure what they’d like? Box office gift certificates are available to be used for any show.

Dance Fredericton’s The Nutcracker

Saturday, Nov. 27, 7:30 pm & Sunday, November 28, 2:00 pm

Presented by Dance Fredericton Danse and featuring guest artists Alanna McAdie and Yosuke Mino, soloists with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and Louis-Philippe Dionne former soloist with the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada. The Nutcracker is a full-length ballet which showcases original choreography created for Dance Fredericton, elaborate costuming and sets, and the classical score by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

The Snowman’s Ball: Christmas with Matt Andersen and Friends

Wednesday, Dec. 1, 7:30 pm

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Matt Andersen is taking the holiday party on the road! Performing holiday favourites with his small band, the show will feature special guests Fortunate Ones and Reeny Smith. The Snowman’s Ball is becoming a can’t-miss tradition, so gather friends and family to celebrate the season with Matt.

Lennie Gallant: The Innkeeper’s Christmas

Friday, Dec. 3, 7:30 pm

Come join Lennie Gallant and band for a celebration of the season with the 4th annual Innkeeper’s Christmas show. This year, the highly popular multimedia show will feature songs from his new Christmas record as well as favourites from his 14 album catalogue. His past Innkeeper’s Christmas concerts have all sold out, so book your tickets early.

NB Country Showcase: Christmas Show

Saturday, Dec. 4, 7:30 pm

The New Brunswick Country Showcase is pleased to present their Christmas Show. This two-hour stellar performance will feature a mixture traditional Gospel Christmas music, traditional Country Christmas music and contemporary Country Christmas music performed by Kevin Neilson, Sarah MacLoon, Sam Johnston, Barb Prosser, Dwane Drost, Bea Tompkins, Nellie Spinney, Harmonix and the Showcase Band. This special concert is guaranteed to warm the hearts of young and old alike and put everyone in the Christmas Spirit.

Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley

Thursday, Dec. 9, 7:30 pm | Friday, Dec. 10, 7:30 pm | Saturday, Dec. 11, 2:00 pm & 7:30 pm

Theatre New Brunswick return to the stage with Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, a witty, fun, “sequel” to the Jane Austen classic, Pride and Prejudice. This holiday tale focuses on Mary, the bookish, often over-looked middle child, as she navigates a potential romance with Mr. Darcy’s smart but awkward cousin, Arthur. Brought to life by a cast of actors from all four Atlantic provinces under the direction of Ryan G. Hinds, this highly entertaining production draws influence from Netflix’s Bridgerton with period style and enough modern wit to delight Jane Austen fans and newcomers alike. A special treat for a holiday season!

Fredericton Symphony Orchestra

Sunday, Dec. 12, 7:30 pm

The Fredericton Symphony Orchestra returns with its annual fan-favourite seasonal concert – featuring special guests, the Fredericton Choral Society! Start your holiday season with a full symphony orchestra sound playing seasonal musical favourites. Good fun for the whole family!

Chantal Kreviazuk: Christmas is a Way of Life, My Dear

Thursday, Dec. 16, 7:30 pm

One of Canada’s most accomplished songwriters and recognizable voices comes to the Fredericton Playhouse this season! In time for the holidays, Chantal Kreviazuk brings songs from her holiday album “Christmas is a Way of Life, My Dear”, as well as her latest album “Get to You”, released in the summer of 2020.

Tomato/Tomato: A Down Home Christmas

Sunday, Dec. 19, 7:30 pm

Hang onto your hats because this Saint John-based genre-bending musical duo is ready to take you on a ride with their eclectic mix of holiday folk and country! Expect jaw dropping multitasking, dynamic guitar arrangements, and soaring vocal harmonies. This year enjoy a “downhome” Christmas with Tomato/Tomato and friends, featuring musical guest Ray Legere.

Barra MacNeils: Celtic Christmas

Monday, Dec. 20, 7:30 pm

One of the most beloved concerts on the seasonal circuit, the Barra MacNeils Celtic Christmas features a highly entertaining mix of traditional seasonal fare along with entertaining stories and dance, stamped with their lush harmonies and brilliant instrumental stylings. Their unique show is crafted to bring a Celtic spin to traditional favourites and their own original musical treasures.

Bonus for the kids! DuffleBag Theatre: Robin Hood

Monday, Dec. 27, 2:00 pm & 6:30 pm

This holiday season, DuffleBag Theatre brings the classic story of Robin Hood to life, with plenty of hilarious twists along the way! DuffleBag’s fractured fairy tales are an annual favourite, full of spontaneous and amusing audience involvement. With all the humour and fun you have come to expect, DuffleBag hits the mark with this on-target tale of derring-do!
