Any performance cancelled either by the Playhouse, its clients, or artists, will be eligible for a full refund. The Playhouse is Fredericton’s premiere live performance venue. This soft-seat proscenium theatre has 709 seats (473 orchestra and 236 balcony). The main stage is equipped with state-of-the art sound and lighting, soft goods, a double purchase fly system, clear com communications, and a video projection system. A spacious backstage area complete with green room, rehearsal hall, dressing rooms, loading dock, kitchen, and production offices are available for use by our visiting artists and companies. Established in 2008, the Playhouse Honours is given to an individual selected by the Fredericton Playhouse board of directors. Generously presented by Atlantic Mediaworks, the program recognizes an individual’s involvement in the performing arts in Fredericton, fostering a deeper appreciation of the value that people can bring to community life through their work in music, theatre, dance, spoken-word and multidisciplinary performing arts. A permanent display in the west gallery of the Playhouse recognizes the honourees.

At the Fredericton Playhouse, we know that learning can happen outside of the classroom, and we believe there is value in visiting the theatre at a young age. That’s why each year we offer a series of school matinée field trips and Playhouse tours designed to expose students to the magic of live, professional performing arts. Our series offers performances for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in music, theatre, dance, and more! Plus, give your students a behind-the-scenes look at how a professional performance venue operates, including a look backstage and a lighting and sound demonstration. The Fredericton Playhouse invites local visual arts programs and organizations to exhibit art in its two gallery spaces through the Visual Arts Exhibitions Program. Participants are welcome to display works in cohesive exhibits comprised of local professional, emerging or student work. Each gallery is available for a two-month period to host such exhibits.
