There's a version of If I Had a Million Dollars that lives in your memory. Maybe it's the one from the radio or the one from the backseat of your parents' car. No matter which, you still know every word thanks to singer-songwriter Steven Page.
As one of the architects of Canadian pop, Steven wrote and sang classics like Brian Wilson, What a Good Boy and dozens more that became the unofficial soundtrack of an entire generation. Songs that sold over 15 million albums and defined a generation. Since leaving Barenaked Ladies in 2009, he has built a celebrated solo career, performing with the Vancouver Symphony and opening for rock legends The Who.
Now he brings his catalogue back to Fredericton.
Steven plays with a trio that features Craig Northey of Odds on guitar and Kevin Fox on cello. For this special performance, he'll be joined by Fredericton's own Elm City String Quartet. Their collaboration brings together a national icon and a beloved local ensemble for an intimate celebration.
The Elm City String Quartet has been captivating New Brunswick audiences since 2019 — from art galleries to packed house concerts where children sat on the floor between their music stands. Tonight, they bring that warmth and charisma to the Playhouse stage.
An evening Fredericton won't forget.
