Somewhere between a Viking museum and a comedy club, two elegantly dressed Estonians are doing something that shouldn't work — but it absolutely does.

Puuluup is Ramo Teder and Marko Veisson: two Estonians who play an ancient Nordic bowed lyre called the talharpa. When they start running it through effects pedals and loopers... the party starts.

Then they sing. Not only in Estonian, but in English and a language they invent on stage. The rhythms are contagious. Their humour is gloriously strange. And the choreography is weird on purpose.

They call it "neo-zombie-post-folk."

Puuluup has toured 40 countries, earned multiple awards in Estonia, and reached the Eurovision Song Contest finals. They've played at some of the biggest music festivals—WOMAD, Sziget, and Clockenflap, where audiences usually leave saying: I have no idea what I just saw, and I loved every second of it.

Come see an instrument you've never seen before, played in a way no one has ever played it, by two men who seem genuinely delighted that any of this is happening.
