NUTANKEYUTIKET “Caregiver”

To honour the children, survivors and ancestors on The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, The Hello Crows presents NUTANKEYUTIKET “Caregiver” with The Olympic Symphonium and friends to share an evening of visionary, truthful and spirit healing storytelling weaved through songs, language and dance.

The Hello Crows

Lessons from the past, anthems for the present, and hope in the future where truth is realized— that clear-sightedness combined with cautious optimism says a lot about what The Hello Crows are hoping to accomplish. They are not only a group of highly talented Wabanaki songwriters and storytellers, but together they stand as a collective voice representing both their people and generation simultaneously.

The Olympic Symphonium have been trudging through the murkier depths of the Canadian music stream since 2005. Consisting of five distinct and diverse songwriters, the band has crafted a full, lush sound that is entirely their own. A sound that features emotional musical flourishes, soaring harmonies that float in and out, and dramatic lyrical content. It is the sound of a strange and beautiful tension.

*Proceeds from this Pay What You Will show will be donated to the Kehkimin Wolastoqey language immersion school.
