Echoes of Fundy Bay

An Immersive Interactive Soundscape Performance

Echoes of Fundy Bay is an immersive, interdisciplinary soundscape performance inspired by the tides and natural sonic landscape of Canada’s Bay of Fundy.

Presented as part of Asian Heritage Month, the performance is conceived and led by Artistic Director Charles Pan, bringing together artists and youth from diverse Asian communities to create a shared space of cultural dialogue, belonging, and connection. The project features a dynamic ensemble of artists, including Chinese Erhu performer CHEN Fei and Yangqin performer CHEN Yi, Filipino Pianist Zyrene Estallo, Indian Sitar performer Sushmita Badrinathan, and Vocal Artist Lucy Huang, alongside emerging community artists PAN YuhanAlex Meng, and ZHANG Xingxiu, with visual contributions by artists Andrew Yang and YANG Yan

Blending field recordings, live music, poetry, and visual imagery, the performance unfolds as a multi-sensory journey. Audiences are invited to listen deeply and reflect on themes of migration, identity, and emotional resilience.

Structured around three poetic chapters
Tides and Mist
Forest and Stone
and Distant Echoes

The work moves fluidly between improvisation and composed form, where nature becomes a co-creator and sound becomes a language of storytelling. Voices from different cultures and times converge, echoing memory, displacement, and hope.

This is not only a concert,
but a journey of resonance—
between nature, time, and the human spirit.
