Dan Mangan, beloved and prolific Canadian folk and indie rock star, returns to Fredericton this season as he continues his international Going Somewhere Tour. A veteran of the Canadian indie music scene, Mangan is known for his intimate live shows and instantly recognizable soulful and honest voice.

With seven full-length records and four EPs under his belt, the singer-songwriter, hailing from Vancouver, is a multi-instrumentalist who performs vocals, guitar, and piano. Mangan was awarded two JUNOs in 2012 (New Artist of the Year, Alternative Album of the Year), and his second album was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize in 2009. His latest album, Being Somewhere, was released in 2022.

Opening for Dan Mangan is 2023 JUNO-nominated artist Aysanabee. This multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter is Oji-Cree, Sucker Clan of the Sandy Lake First Nation, currently based in Toronto. Solemn and soaring, backed by a swirling blend of indie, soul and electronic soundscapes, mournful saxophone and pulse-quickening finger-picking, Aysanabee’s striking sound is equal parts hypnotic and melodic.
